SEGUNDO BARRIO

El Segundo Barrio, one of El Paso County's oldest neighborhoods, has long been used as a point of entry for immigrants from Mexico. Muralists from all across the city, are inspired by the vibrant border culture and architecture.

The Barrio also has a vibrant mural trail that offers a window into the history of the neighborhood along its walls. These murals are not included in this catalog as they are protected, and this project seeks to capture and store murals at risk of being lost. While not included in this collection, the artists that paint along the Segundo Barrio also paint numerous murals across the city, many of which are included here and reflect some of the cultural inspiration of Segundo Barrio.
